The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia and takes approximately 3 hours. The surgery involves making incisions on the breasts, remove excess breast tissue, skin, and fat, and reshape the remaining tissue to create smaller, firmer, and more proportionate breasts. The nipple and areola may also be repositioned to create a more natural-looking breast shape.
After the surgery, patients may experience temporary bruising, swelling, and discomfort, which can be managed with pain medication and compression garments. Most patients can return to work and normal activities within a week or two, but it is recommended to avoid strenuous activities and heavy lifting for 6 weeks.
