Rejuvenate your eyes without surgery
The eyes are often the first place age becomes visible — hooded lids, fine crepey lines, a tired look even on a well-rested day. Surgery has traditionally been the only way to address this properly, but advances in laser technology now make it possible to achieve comparable tightening and rejuvenation without an operation, a general anaesthetic, or weeks of downtime.
At The Ü Clinic, we’re pleased to introduce the Madonna Eye Lift, or mini-blepharoplasty. This non-surgical, precision CO² laser treatment is designed specifically for the delicate skin around the eyes.
How it works
The Madonna Eye Lift uses a specially modulated, fractionated CO² laser to deliver very fine, cooled beams of light beneath the surface of the eyelid skin. Rather than removing the outer skin layer as a traditional ablative laser would, these micro-beams create a controlled pattern of tiny channels within the deeper tissue, leaving the surrounding epidermis undisturbed.
This targeted heating stimulates the skin’s own repair response, prompting fresh collagen and elastin production in the treated area over the following weeks and months — the two proteins responsible for skin’s firmness and elasticity, and the ones we lose steadily as we age.
Benefits of the Madonna Eye Lift
- Softer-looking lines and creases around the upper and lower eyes
- A lighter, less heavy appearance to hooded or puffy upper lids
- Reduction of mild excess eyelid skin
- A more open, refreshed appearance to the eye area
- An alternative to surgical blepharoplasty for those seeking less downtime and a lower-intervention option
- Treatment carried out under local anaesthetic or numbing cream, without the need for a general anaesthetic
What to expect from treatment
The procedure is carried out as a day case under local anaesthetic or topical numbing cream (sedation can also be arranged where appropriate), and typically takes around 30 minutes. Most patients describe a mild tingling or warming sensation rather than significant discomfort. There’s no need to plan extensive time off afterwards, and most people return to their normal routine the same day.
Improvement continues gradually as new collagen forms, and a course of treatment — usually around three sessions spaced two to four weeks apart — tends to give the best result. Because recovery is quick, it’s practical to complete a full course within a relatively short period.
Preparing for your treatment
To help your skin respond as well as possible, we ask patients to:
- Stop taking aspirin or other blood-thinning medication for at least a week beforehand (unless advised otherwise by your prescribing doctor)
- Make sure the eye area is free from active infection, inflammation or broken skin before proceeding
- Attend a consultation beforehand so we can assess your suitability and talk through what to expect
Aftercare
Some redness, mild swelling or light bruising around the eyes is common in the first day or two, and cooling the area can help with comfort. Because treated skin is more sun-sensitive afterwards, we recommend wearing sunglasses and using a good-quality, high-SPF eye cream for several days — and, as with any skin treatment, sensible sun protection is worth keeping up long-term
A word on results
You’ll usually notice a visible difference straightaway, with the effect building over subsequent weeks as new collagen forms — most patients see the fuller benefit emerge over the following three to six months. Because skin continues to age naturally afterwards, many patients choose to repeat treatment periodically to maintain their result; this isn’t a one-off, permanent fix, but a rejuvenation treatment that can be built into an ongoing skincare plan.
