Mr Neruban Kumaran
Mr Neruban Kumaran is a highly trained Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in Vitreoretinal Surgery, Medical Retina and Cataract Surgery. His NHS practice is at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals, London where he is also lead for the Ophthalmic Emergency Service. He completed his Ophthalmic surgery training and further subspecialty training in Vitreoretinal Surgery in the prestigious London deanery.

He has been awarded a PhD from The Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital for his research into the retina. Building on this, he led Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust’s first ever retinal gene therapy programme treating children from around the world for rare form of severe blindness.
He regularly trains Ophthalmologists with many going on to take up Consultant posts in the UK and around the world. Having demonstrated excellence in the field of medical and surgical education he was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), in 2021.
He is dedicated to going above and beyond to provide a world-class level of care for his patients with a compassionate, personalised approach.
