Mastopexy, commonly referred to as a breast lift, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that raises and reshapes sagging breasts. It helps restore a firmer, more youthful, and uplifted breast contour, enhancing both the aesthetic appearance and overall confidence of the patient.

During the procedure, excess skin is carefully removed, the underlying breast tissue is reshaped, and the nipple is repositioned to a more elevated, natural-looking position. If needed, the areola can also be resized to maintain proportion and harmony with the newly contoured breast shape.
The Procedure
Mastopexy is typically performed under general anaesthesia and takes approximately 2 to 3 hours to complete. Recovery time varies between individuals, but it is common to experience some swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort for several days following surgery. Most patients can resume work and normal daily activities within 1 to 2 weeks, while complete recovery may take several months.
As a highly individualized procedure, mastopexy can be tailored to each patient’s specific needs and desired results. Various surgical techniques may be used, and in some cases, the procedure is combined with lipomodelling (fat transfer) or breast implant augmentation to enhance the final outcome.
Although mastopexy is primarily a cosmetic procedure, it can also provide functional benefits for some patients. Women with significant breast sagging may experience discomfort, skin irritation, or rashes beneath the breasts, which can be relieved through the lifting and reshaping of the breast tissue.
Overall, mastopexy offers an effective way to restore a more youthful, uplifted breast contour, enhancing both physical comfort and emotional confidence.
